Here is how to access shared network storage on your Macintosh computer.

Solution

Whether you can connect to a specific network share depends on your current role and if you were given access by IT. If you require access to a shared network drive that you do not, please contact your department supervisor.

  • In the Finder menu, Go > Connect to Server

  • Type the server address you want to access. For example:

    • smb://dsm.nasguard.com

  • Enter your username and password

  • Select the file share you want to connect to and select Connect

  • A window with the network share folder should now appear showing that you are now connected
